Meet Jakob Miles

Jakob has spent his life working to protect people.

Jakob has built his career in service to others, guided by a deep commitment to community, teamwork, and creating opportunities. With 10 years of service in the Army National Guard, he developed a strong sense of duty, leadership, and accountability that continues to shape his work today. As a union leader and dedicated public servant, he advocates for fairness, supports working people, and strives to make systems work better for those they serve. Whether leading, listening, or problem-solving, he approaches every role with empathy, reliability, and a people-first mindset, believing that meaningful impact comes from showing up, listening to others, and serving with purpose.

Jakob was raised in Eastern Montana, where small communities, wide-open spaces, and a strong sense of responsibility shaped him. Growing up in a rural area also meant understanding what it’s like to be overlooked, and learning early that your worth isn’t defined by attention or recognition, but by how you show up for others. Those experiences taught him the value of hard work, self-reliance, and looking out for your neighbors—because Montanans rely on one another. That upbringing instilled in him a grounded perspective, resilience, and a deep respect for service and community that continue to guide how he lives and works today.

He understands firsthand the strain that today’s cost of living places on individuals and families. When housing, healthcare, childcare, and everyday necessities continue to rise faster than wages, the stress isn’t abstract—it’s personal. He knows what it feels like to choose between necessities, to worry about stability, and to feel like hard work alone isn’t always enough to get ahead. That understanding shapes how he approaches this campaign and his plans for serving while in office. Jakob will always be a voice for those struggling to get by while working towards their dreams.
